​Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately as much as we love dogs we are unable to accommodate dogs or pets in the shepherd’s hut.  

 

Can I bring my baby or child?

Sorry, no. The shepherd’s hut is designed for a maximum of two adults only.

 

What time is check-in and check-out?

Our check-in is from 3:00 pm onwards on your arrival day and check-out is by 10:00am latest on your departure day.

How do I check in when I arrive? details will be emailed to you once you have booked.

What do we need to do on check out day?

Please check out by 10.00, please leave neat and tidy, put all bed linens and towels into laundry bag provided.  Dispose of any rubbish in your bin and put in bin bags provided and leave outside in dustbin.

 

Is there parking?

Yes, there is free on-site parking just a short walk from the shepherd's hut.

 

Is there WiFi?

Yes, complimentary WiFi is provided.

 

How is the hut heated?

The hut is fully insulated and features both a cosy wood-burning stove and an electric radiator to keep you warm all year round.

 

Are logs provided?

Yes, one basket of logs is included for your stay. Additional logs can be purchased if needed.

 

Can I cook in the hut?

Yes this is self catering accommodation so if you wish to eat in rather than out,  the kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, and all the essentials you’ll need for simple cooking. There is also a  coffee machine, complimentary tea bags, coffee , milk salt and pepper are provided for your convenience.   Please bring any other food that you may wish for your stay.

 

Is there a fire pit?

Yes, there’s a private outdoor fire pit where you can relax in the evenings.

 

Are linens and towels provided?

Yes, white cotton high-quality bed linen and towels are provided.

 

Is there a bathroom inside the shepherds hut?

Yes, the hut has its own private bathroom with a hot shower, toilet, and sink.  ​

 

Can I smoke or vape inside?

No, smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the hut.

 

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes, there is a minimum stay of 3 nights per booking in the summer, and a minimum of 2 nights in the off peak winter months.

However there maybe the odd night available in between bookings that may become available.  Please email if you have any questions or need help with booking.

​Terms & Conditions

By booking our Shepherd’s Hut at Slowhayes Retreat, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

Booking and Payment

• A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking if the arrival date is more than 28 days away.

• The full balance is due 28 days before arrival.

• If payment is not received, we may cancel your booking and retain the deposit.

 

Cancellations

• Deposits are non-refundable.

• Cancellations within 28 days of arrival do not qualify for a refund.

• We recommend taking out holiday insurance to cover unforeseen cancellations.

 

Check-In / Check-Out

• Check-in: from 3:00 pm on day of arrival

• Check-out: by 10:00 am latest on day of departure

• Late arrivals or early departures are non-refundable.

 

Occupancy and Visitors

• Maximum occupancy: 2 adults.

• The booking is for you and/or your named guest only.

• No additional visitors are permitted.

Pets

• No pets are allowed on the premises.

​

Smoking and Fire Safety

• No smoking or vaping inside the Shepherd’s Hut.

• No fireworks, Chinese lanterns, or open fires anywhere on the property.

• Use only the BBQ provided; disposable barbecues are prohibited.

 

Damages and Behaviour

• Guests are responsible for the Shepherd’s Hut and its contents.

• Any damage, breakage, or loss must be reported and paid for.

• By booking, you authorise Slowhayes Retreat to charge your card for any damages.

• Always shut the gate to your area for safety and privacy.

Liability

• Guests’ personal belongings are their own responsibility.

• Vehicles parked on-site are at your own risk and should be locked securely.

• Slowhayes Retreat is not liable for loss, damage, or injury except in cases of proven negligence.

Campfire Companions Club

• By signing this agreement, you automatically become a member of the Campfire Companions Club.

General

• We reserve the right to terminate a stay without refund if guests fail to comply with these Terms or behave in a way that causes disturbance or damage.

• These Terms are governed by the laws of England and wales.
